Cinemini | In the Kitchen

Join us for a magical first cinema experience designed for children aged 2 to 6 at Natlab. On Sunday mornings, toddlers and preschoolers can enjoy Taartrovers Cinemini, a special program filled with delightful films and playful activities in a stunning light landscape. On February 14th, celebrate Valentine’s Day with us! During Taartrovers Cinemini, we showcase beautiful, charming, and sometimes challenging short films tailored for young audiences. After the screening, children play together in a light landscape filled with various installations that allow them to explore how light can create stories. They will discover shapes, projection, light, shadow, movement, and color while asking questions like: How do shadows form? Where do images come from? How do shapes grow or shrink? And what stories can they see within these shapes? To adults, shadows may seem ordinary, but to children, they can appear as magical transformations. **PROGRAM:** - **In the Kitchen**: Cooking is fun—stirring, chopping, tasting, and smelling! It’s a celebration to cook and eat together. Will you join us? - **BABEL'S KITCHEN** (Fiona Rolland, 2024, Belgium, 11 min): Bobel, a poisonous mushroom, dreams of becoming a chef, but no one wants to taste his dishes. Determined, he catches the attention of Milo, a young mushroom who helps him find customers, despite his mother’s warning. - **FRANZY'S SOUP KITCHEN** (Ana Chubinidze, 2022, France/Canada, 9 min): Franzy, an alien chef, discovers her special pink soup has magical powers when shared with hungry beings on a strange planet. - **BAKER BORIS** (Maša Avramović, 2023, France, 8 min): When baker Boris discovers he is allergic to flour, he struggles to bake bread.
