A Magical Cinematic Journey for Little Ones

ABOUT THIS EVENT

Children aged 2 to 6 will enjoy their first cinema experience in our cozy screening room. On Sunday mornings, toddlers and preschoolers will engage with the Taartrovers Cinemini, a special program that combines film viewing with play in a stunning light landscape. During Taartrovers Cinemini, we showcase beautiful, charming, exciting, abstract, narrative, and sometimes challenging short films tailored for toddlers and preschoolers. After the screening, the children play together in a light landscape filled with various installations that allow them to discover how light can create stories. They will explore concepts of shape, projection, light, shadow, storytelling, movement, and color. How are shadows formed? Where do images come from? How do shapes grow larger or smaller, and how do they disappear into nothingness? What stories can they see within the shapes? While shadows may seem ordinary to adults, to children, it’s like a wizard transforming adults into towering giants. **PROGRAM:** **BORIYA** Directed by Min Sung-Ah, 2019, South Korea, 16 minutes. Bori, a 7-year-old girl, finds herself bored in the daily routine of rural life. Everyone is busy during the bustling agricultural season, leaving her searching for someone to play with, only to find that life is not as exciting as she had hoped. **KOONG! FLAP! FLAP** Directed by Min Sung-Ah, 2013, South Korea, 6 minutes. The story of a sleepy crocodile and a little bird. **TWO FRIENDS** Directed by Min Sung-Ah, 2014, South Korea, 4 minutes. Taartrovers Cinemini is developed by Taartrovers and Eye Filmmuseum.
