ABOUT THIS EVENT

Children aged 2 to 6 will embark on their first cinema experience in our cozy screening room. On Sunday mornings, toddlers and preschoolers will enjoy Taartrovers Cinemini, a unique program featuring films and play in a stunning light landscape. During this event, we will showcase beautiful, charming, thrilling, abstract, and narrative short films specifically curated for toddlers and preschoolers. After the screening, children will engage in playful exploration within a light landscape filled with various installations that allow them to discover how light can create stories. They will investigate shape, projection, light, shadow, storytelling, movement, and color. What creates shadows? Where do images come from, how do shapes grow larger or smaller, and how do forms disappear? In this magical world, children may see shadows as wizards turning adults into towering giants. **PROGRAM** 1. **Meneer Papier** - Directors: Steven de Beul & Ben Tesseur, 2018, Netherlands, 8 minutes - A beautiful day unfolds as Meneer Papier ventures out for a walk, crafting a hat from old newspapers and making a dog friend to ease his loneliness. 2. **Tourist Trap** - Director: Vera van Wolferen, 2020, Netherlands, 2 minutes - Jeep, a little car, finds a dreamy tropical island, only to discover he’s not alone as campers invade his piece of paradise. 3. **Ice Cream** - Director: Ton van Saane, 1970, Netherlands, 5 minutes - This whimsical animation explores how two kids handle wheelbarrows full of delicious ice cream — how much is too much? 4. **Dodu** - Director: José Miguel Ribeiro, 2010, Portugal, 5 minutes - Dodu, the cardboard boy, and his ladybug friend embark on exciting adventures across a cardboard world. 5. **My Happy End** - Director: Milan Vitanov, 2007, Germany, 5 minutes - When a dog’s tail becomes more than just a body part and turns into his best friend, life is full of joy — but what happens when the tail starts acting on its own?
