Experience Cinemini with Taartrovers

ABOUT THIS EVENT

Children aged 2 to 6 years will experience their first cinema visit in our cozy film hall. On Sunday mornings, toddlers and preschoolers enjoy Taartrovers Cinemini, a special program where they watch films and get to play in a beautiful light landscape. During Taartrovers Cinemini, we screen lovely, exciting, abstract, narrative, and sometimes challenging short films specifically for toddlers and preschoolers. Then, visitors engage in playful activities within a light landscape, made up of various installations that allow children to discover how light can create stories. They explore shapes, projection, light, shadow, stories, movement, and color. How are shadows formed? Where do images come from, how do shapes get bigger or smaller, and how do shapes disappear into nothing? And what stories can they see in those shapes? For adults, shadow is something obvious, but for children, it might be a wizard creating long giants from adults. PROGRAM What do you do at night? When it’s nighttime and it seems like the entire world is asleep, there is so much going on! The sun prepares for her next rise, bats wake up to go on adventures, the moon goes missing for a bit, and a snuggle thief is on the loose. Stay awake and take a look into the night! THE TINY PRINCE Zoïa Trofimovaz, 2003 France 7 minutes When the sun rises on the horizon, it's covered in spots. A little boy tries to clean the sun. LUCE AND THE ROCK Elena Walf, 2015 Germany 4 minutes When night falls on the farm, a little bat wakes up. Will he find someone? SOONER OR LATER Jadwiga Kowalska, 2007 Switzerland 5 minutes A squirrel and a bat happen to meet. Where the squirrel lives during the day, the bat does so at night. Thus, different worlds come together, starting a journey for two lonely figures.
