ABOUT THIS EVENT

Children aged 2 to 6 years will experience their first visit to the movies in our cozy film hall. On Sunday mornings, toddlers and preschoolers enjoy Taartrovers Cinemini, a special program where they watch films and play in a stunning light landscape. During Taartrovers Cinemini, we screen beautiful, sweet, exciting, abstract, narrative, and sometimes challenging short films specially curated for toddlers and preschoolers. After the screening, the young visitors get to explore and play together in a light landscape filled with various installations that allow children to discover how light can create stories. They investigate shape, projection, light, shadow, narrative, movement, and color in a magical environment. How do shadows arise? Where do images come from? How do shapes grow or shrink, and how do they disappear? And what stories can they see within the shapes? For adults, shadows are a natural phenomenon, but for children, they might be the very magic that creates towering giants from their parents! PROGRAM A Very Cute and Brave Owl SHOOOM'S ADVENTURE By Sonja Rohelder, Julien Bisaro, Carol Freeman, 2020 France Duration: 26 minutes As a storm rages over the marsh, little owl Shooom hatches from its egg and is immediately blown out of its nest. With an extra egg on its back, Shooom ventures into the marsh forest, determined to find a mother for both itself and the egg, even if that mother turns out to be an alligator or a raccoon.
