For filmmaker Jeroen Kooijmans, creating art is essential to his existence, yet it sometimes leads him to deep despair. The raw imagery captures him as he becomes entrapped in a psychosis. In this intimate documentary, Kooijmans reconstructs the period leading up to these moments and the long journey that followed, using personal archive material from himself and his beloved. It is primarily a love letter to his wife, artist Elspeth Diederix, who is his anchor in life and the light at the end of his tunnel. The film reveals how love, art, and the darker corners of the psyche intertwine, allowing space for doubt, struggle, and ultimately insight. After 33 years, the film unfolds an answer to how love and art can support and heal a life.
