Game Changers: Ferris Bueller's Day Off - An Iconic Film Experience

Sometimes, all it takes is one free day to discover who you really want to be. What if that day forever changes your outlook on life? In our new Game Changer series, film educator Twan Arts delves into Ferris Bueller’s Day Off: an irresistible tribute to freedom, friendship, and coloring outside the lines. Ferris Bueller has a remarkable talent: he knows exactly how to bend the rules. On a sunny day, he decides to skip school and takes his best friend Cameron and girlfriend Sloane on a day full of adventure, unexpected encounters, and iconic moments in Chicago. Meanwhile, school principal Ed Rooney will stop at nothing to catch him in the act. However, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off is more than just a hilarious film about skipping school. Beneath the bravado and humor lies a profound story about freedom, friendship, and the courage to choose how you want to live. While Ferris seems fearless, Cameron grapples with expectations, insecurities, and the question of whether he can finally choose for himself. Every third Monday of the month, GAME CHANGERS takes place at Natlab. On this evening, a classic film is screened, preceded by a masterclass from film educator Twan Arts, explaining what makes the chosen film a true game changer.
