ABOUT THIS EVENT
La Grande Bellezza is Paolo Sorrentino’s visual triumph and a modern reinvention of Italian cinema. In a mesmerizing blend of decadence and melancholy, Jep Gambardella roams through Rome, searching for meaning in a world of superficiality. With its unparalleled aesthetics and bold soundtrack, the film elevates the urban symphony genre to new heights. On January 19th, Twan Arts will demonstrate why this film is an undisputed Game Changer.
This visually stunning masterpiece is often regarded as a modern echo of Fellini’s La Dolce Vita. The film won the Oscar for Best Foreign Film and is a melancholic homage to the city of Rome and the quest for meaning. We follow Jep Gambardella, a 65-year-old journalist and theater critic who wrote one successful novel decades ago. He is the undisputed king of Roman nightlife, effortlessly moving through a world of decadent parties, intellectual high society, and absurd characters. However, after his 65th birthday and hearing news about an old love, Jep begins to view his empty existence through a new lens.
