ABOUT THIS EVENT
In a brand new restoration from the San Francisco Film Preserve, The Garden of Eden is a delightful comedy filled with humor and romance, creatively filmed against stunning backgrounds and sets. A fitting conclusion to the festival.
As Toni (Corinne Griffith) hopes to break into opera through a singing audition in Budapest, she discovers to her dismay that she is hired at a seedy nightclub. She finds solace with Rosa, the kind dresser (Louise Dresser) who takes her to Hotel Eden in Monte Carlo. However, there Rosa's true identity is revealed..
Written by Hans Kraly (who collaborated extensively with Ernst Lubitsch), filmed by John Arnold (known for works like Forbidden Paradise), and directed by Lewis Milestone, this film is a delightful treat for viewers.
