In Memoriam: A Celebration of Dolly Parton

In tribute to the legendary Dolly Parton, we invite you to an exclusive screening of '9 to 5' on Sunday, September 13th at Natlab. This sharp office comedy, marking Dolly's film debut alongside Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin, showcases the humorous struggle against a sexist boss using wit, solidarity, and a theme song that became an anthem for generations. As Judy, Violet, and Doralee take on their condescending boss Franklin Hart, their journey of comedic resistance remains relevant today. Dolly's portrayal of Doralee Rhodes—a secretarial whiz underestimated due to her looks—exemplifies her trademark warmth and determination. Not only did she perform in this iconic role, but she also wrote and sang the unforgettable title song, earning an Oscar nomination and two Grammy Awards. Join us in celebrating Dolly Parton as a singer, songwriter, actress, and beloved icon with a special evening dedicated to her legacy!
