Reviving Lost Films Through Art and Music
ABOUT THIS EVENT
Approximately eighty to ninety percent of all silent films have been lost due to fire, decay, and years of neglect. Film scholar Kate Saccone and pianist Meg Morley breathe life back into three of these vanished films using posters, photos, scripts, plot descriptions, intertitles, narration, and newly composed music. They explore what can still be shared when the film itself is no longer available, inviting the audience on an investigative journey through the intricacies of film history and creativity. This is not a traditional screening but an interactive experience that bridges the gap between reconstruction and imagination.
