ABOUT THIS EVENT
How does it feel to be a mother when your child cannot grow up with you? In 'Mama, Can I Go Home?', six mothers share their vulnerable stories about the separation of their children. They talk about the emptiness it leaves behind, the guilt and shame that haunt them, and the fear of losing the bond with their child forever. At the same time, the film shows how love and courage can be stronger than judgment and pain.
Aleksandra, Diana, Noraly, Monique, Coby, and Yvonne narrate their journeys of finding a way to collaborate with the foster parents who provide a home for their children. This process was often arduous and emotional, but also brought moments of healing, trust, and unexpected connection. It is a film about loss and resilience, about love that continues to beat, and about the quest for connection—with their children, with others, and with themselves.
'Mama, Can I Go Home?' does not provide easy answers but creates space for conversation, understanding, and connection. A touching documentary that resonates deeply and highlights the importance of listening to parents.
