A Magical Movie Experience for Kids

ABOUT THIS EVENT

Children aged 2 to 6 will experience their first cinema visit in our cozy screening room. On Sunday mornings, toddlers and preschoolers enjoy Taartrovers Cinemini, a special program where they not only watch films but can also play in a beautiful light landscape. During Taartrovers Cinemini, we showcase delightful, heartwarming, exciting, and even thought-provoking short films designed especially for young children. Following the screening, attendees play together in a light-based landscape featuring various installations that allow children to explore how light can create stories. They investigate form, projection, light, shadow, narratives, movement, and color. They’ll discover questions like: How do shadows form? Where do images come from, how do shapes change in size, and how do they disappear? Unlike adults, who may see shadows as commonplace, children might view them as magical beings transforming them into giants. PROGRAM: Meet the insect family through this enchanting series that has captured hearts in France with its unique perspective, stunning sound effects, and beautiful animation style. Notably, the creators have interspersed animations with documentary footage, bringing nature even closer to home. MINUSCULE is directed by Thomas Szabo & Hélène Giraud, 2006, France, lasting 25 minutes, where insects narrate their own stories. Viewed through their eyes, the miniature world becomes vast, showcasing ants, spiders, and ladybugs with human-like traits immersed in amusing daily adventures. Join these tiny creatures on a journey through meadows filled with grass and flowers!
