De Acht: Live Film Music Experience

On Saturday, November 1st and Sunday, November 2nd, 2025, something special is happening at Natlab in Eindhoven! Musicians from Stratums Muziekkorps St. Cecilia will perform live music for the acclaimed documentary, De Acht. De Acht showcases the volunteers of the Chaam cycling event on the big screen, attracting thousands to film theaters and community centers. The film returns featuring specially composed live music by Jan Bosveld, bringing it to life with the wonderful sounds of the harmony orchestra! This is the Eindhoven premiere of a remarkable project: docs in concert, where documentaries are paired with harmony orchestras and composers, merging the magic of live music with documentary film. Initiative leader Frank van Osch shares, “When my documentary, Het verdriet van carnaval, premiered with live music by a harmony orchestra, it was an overwhelming experience. Now we are doing this with many more films, composers, and a variety of Brabant orchestras.” Before the break, St. Cecilia will perform several musical pieces and accompany Frank van Osch, not just the film’s creator and the initiative's leader, but also a singer-songwriter, who will have some of his finest cycling songs arranged for the harmony orchestra especially for this occasion.
