ABOUT THIS EVENT

Children aged 2 to 6 years will enjoy their very first cinematic experience in our cozy screening room. On Sunday mornings, little ones dive into Taartrovers Cinemini—a wonderful program where they watch films and play in a stunning light landscape. This event will feature beautiful, delightful, and sometimes challenging short films created specifically for toddlers and preschoolers. After the screenings, guests will explore and play together in an interactive light installation that allows children to discover how light can craft stories. They will investigate form, projection, light, shadow, stories, movement, and color. They can ponder questions like: How are shadows formed? Where do images come from, and how do shapes change size or disappear altogether? What stories can they find within these shapes? For adults, shadows are commonplace; for children, they may be magical beings transforming the world around them. Join Rita and her always-hungry friend, Krokodil, as they embark on new adventures. Together, they visit the cinema, explore space, and even go to the swimming pool! RITA & KROKODIL Directed by Siri Melchior, 2018, Denmark, 25 minutes. For Rita, every day is a big, colorful adventure. With her always-hungry friend Krokodil by her side, boredom is never an option. No one else can see Krokodil (not even when he's in the bathtub!), but together, Rita and Krokodil play in Grandma's garden or go on an adventure under the rug. With Krokodil, they can venture to the movies, go swimming, attend a birthday party, or even travel through space! Taartrovers Cinemini is developed by Taartrovers and Eye Filmmuseum.
