ABOUT THIS EVENT

Children aged 2 to 6 years embark on their first cinema visit in our cozy film hall. On Sunday mornings, toddlers and preschoolers enjoy Taartrovers Cinemini, a special program where they engage with films and play in a beautiful light landscape. During Taartrovers Cinemini, we present beautiful, sweet, exciting, abstract, narrative, and sometimes challenging short films, specifically crafted for toddlers and preschoolers. After the screening, young visitors play together in a light landscape, consisting of various installations that allow them to discover how light can tell stories. They explore shape, projection, light, shadow, storytelling, movement, and color. How do shadows form? Where do images come from? How do shapes become larger or smaller, and how do they vanish? What stories can they see within these shapes? For adults, shadows may seem trivial, but for children, they can be like wizards transforming adults into enormous giants. PROGRAM With Crocodile around, there's always something happening. Rita and her perpetually hungry friend, Crocodile, are back and diving into more adventures. Together, they go to the cinema, explore space, and visit the pool. RITA & CROCODILE Siri Melchior, 2018 Denmark 25 minutes For Rita, every day is a grand, colorful adventure. With her big, always-hungry friend Crocodile nearby, she will never be bored. Rita is small and determined: Crocodile is real (in the bathtub!), even if others can't see him. Together, they play in Grandma's garden or disappear on an exploratory journey under the carpet. With Crocodile, they can go to the movies, to the pool, to a birthday party, and even... travel through space! Taartrovers Cinemini was developed by Taartrovers and Eye Filmmuseum.
