Première of 'Nog Langer Gelukkig' (7+)

The prince and his sidekick have reached the end of their fairy tale. Now they seek the long and happy life that was promised to them. However, nobody told them what that looks like, where to find it, or how to recognize it. In 'Nog Langer Gelukkig', Eindhoven's Theater Oortwolk turns the classic fairy tale ending upside down with slapstick humor, magic, and a hefty dose of absurdity. Once the dragon is defeated and the final page turned, everyone should be living happily ever after. Yet, the prince and his aide are still waiting. Their happiness was promised, so where is it? In a strange no-man’s-land, they try to discover what a happy life actually looks like. Maybe it appears as an unexpected guest at a party, perhaps it’s hidden in a bag between two sandwiches, or you might just need to stop searching to find it. The prince and his aide continue to wait, attempt, and fumble along, determined not to lose hope, even though happiness seems indifferent to their expectations. Gradually, they learn that a happy ending can look very different from what fairy tales suggest. In 'Nog Langer Gelukkig', the Eindhoven youth theater company Oortwolk plays with slapstick, magic, and absurdity in a show about expectations, perseverance, and the unexpected value of friendship. Suitable for anyone who still believes in fairy tales, yet knows very well that they are not real.
