Dive into a Historical Narrative of Queer Rights
OVER DIT EVENEMENT
Join us for 'Waiting for Marsha,' set against the backdrop of New York in 1969, where Drag Queens and activists, led by the iconic Marsha P. Johnson, fight for their existence amidst vibrant colors, music, and freedom. This powerful play marks the beginning of the Stonewall riots, a pivotal moment in the global struggle for LGBTQ+ rights. Over fifty years later, the fight continues as queer rights face new challenges. A group of queer activists, led by Marvan, plans to hijack World Pride 2026 to highlight the rising violence against the queer community. The pacifist Marvan grapples with the growing pressure from the group to protect their freedom at all costs. What lengths will they go to? This compelling production seeks to ignite the fire for a new Stonewall moment, resonating with contemporary issues faced by the queer community.
