Playgrounds International Student Film Competition 2026

Dive into a stunning collection of graduation films that have emerged from our open call. Twelve exceptional short films have made it to the finals of the Playgrounds International Film Festival for Best Student Film. These short films bravely tackle technical challenges and showcase stellar craftsmanship and production, despite being created by emerging student filmmakers. This selection highlights impressive student films from artists at Dutch universities, while also presenting innovative works that push the boundaries of audiovisual storytelling. One of these films will receive a €1000 encouragement prize and the title of Best Student Film, awarded by our esteemed jury: Narjes Mohammadi, Monique van Kessel, and Michael Hauwert. The twelve short films are divided into two blocks for your viewing pleasure!
