OVER DIT EVENEMENT
In remembrance of the iconic Dolly Parton, we present a screening of '9 to 5', the sharp office comedy where she made her film debut alongside Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin. Together, they take on a sexist boss armed with humor, solidarity, and an anthem that defined a generation.
On Sunday, September 13, we honor Dolly with this beloved film from 1980. Judy, Violet, and Doralee work for Franklin Hart, a self-serving and sexist boss who belittles his employees and makes life miserable for the women in the office. Tired of his antics, they decide to turn the tables—first in fantasy, then with bold action at work.
'9 to 5' perfectly blends office satire, slapstick, and a fantasy of female revenge, remaining surprisingly relevant today. Dolly plays Doralee Rhodes, the underestimated secretary who defies expectations through warmth, humor, and determination—attributes that won over generations.
Not only did Dolly write and perform the film's iconic title song, but she also crafted its rhythm by mimicking a typewriter sound with her acrylic nails on set. This track earned her an Oscar nomination and two Grammy Awards, becoming one of her most famous songs.
Join us for this special In Memoriam screening as we celebrate Dolly Parton as a singer, songwriter, actress, and unforgettable icon. One evening dedicated to Dolly, featuring her on the big screen.
