Children's Book Ball 2026

Dress in your most festive outfit because on Wednesday, October 7th, we are celebrating Children's Book Week with the Children's Book Ball in Eindhoven. Kids aged 6 to 12 will visit Natlab for the interactive theatrical performance 'De Grote voor Schut Show' by the youth theater company Oortwolk and choose a creative workshop with a famous author or illustrator. Throughout the event, they can dance at the silent disco, watch short films, and get new books signed. The Children's Book Ball is all about fun without stiff dance moves or long speeches. Expect authors, illustrators, theater, short films, popcorn, and lots of space for creativity. On Wednesday, October 7th, dress up and come to Natlab for an enjoyable day. All children will experience an interactive theater performance and a workshop of their choice. Younger children will start with the performance before their workshop, while older kids will do the opposite. The highlight of the day, 'De Grote voor Schut Show', revolves around the nerves before performing. Two hosts will present a talent show where the kids can perform themselves, learning the secrets of stage presence. After the hosts reveal their talents, it will be the audience's turn—how brave can you be? Workshops offered include: - **Kevin Hassing:** Bring a story to life through acting. - **Simon van der Geest:** A Wolves Workshop about exploring different wolf personas. - **Dagmar and Margot Holtman:** Design a cover for Das Droog. - **Karst-Janneke Rogaar:** Drawing with shadows and creating your fantasy plush toy. - **Maartje Kouwen:** Nature book creation through leaf art. Between programs, enjoy the silent disco, watch short films, or browse the book stand for new reads and signatures from authors. Each child will receive free juice and popcorn! Tickets cost €10, granting access to both the performance and an exciting workshop. Don't forget to choose the appropriate age group and workshop when reserving your spot.
