Moonlight Motel: A Journey Through Homelessness

After the success of Tofu Cowboy, theater maker Steyn de Leeuwe dives into the world of homeless shelters. In Moonlight Motel, he presents a virtuosic musical one-man show filled with humor, raw emotion, and a multitude of characters. It's a poignant exploration of what home truly means. For two years, Steyn worked in a homeless shelter, and he channels that experience into a hallucinatory theater trip about life on the streets. This odyssey is narrated by an anti-hero, tackling themes of success and failure, happiness and misery, justice and injustice, fiction and reality. Sleeping on the streets is closer to home than one might think, and everyone seems to be in search of a place to call home. In the musical and humorous Moonlight Motel, Steyn seamlessly embodies dozens of characters in a theatrical tour de force.
