Cinemini: Spinning and Twirling - A Cinematic Adventure for Kids

Children aged 2 to 6 will embark on their first cinema adventure in our cozy auditorium. On Sunday mornings, toddlers and preschoolers will experience Taartrovers Cinemini, a special program where they can watch films and play in a magical light landscape. During the Taartrovers Cinemini sessions, we will showcase beautiful, heartwarming, exciting, abstract, narrative, and sometimes challenging short films specially crafted for toddlers and preschoolers. After the screenings, children will engage in playful activities within a light landscape, exploring various installations that help them discover how light can create stories. They will investigate shape, projection, light, shadow, storytelling, movement, and color. How do shadows form? Where do images come from, and how do shapes appear larger, smaller, or vanish completely? What stories can they see in the shapes? For adults, shadows are commonplace, but for children, they might be magical beings that transform children into giants! Join us for six different lively films with plenty of room to move. One thing is certain: at this program, you won't be sitting still! How long can you resist the boogie-woogie? Featured Films: - **DANSE SERPENTINE** (Cinématographe Lumière, 1897, France, 1 minute): A woman dances on stage, morphing into different forms as her dress changes colors. - **SURPRISE BOOGIE** (Albert Pierru, 1957, France, 5 minutes): A film made without a camera, where abstract and figurative images are scratched directly onto the film strip, accompanied by lively jazz music. - **SALLY** (Luna Maurer, Roel Wouters, 2005, Netherlands, 3 minutes): A charming colorized silent film from 1902, featuring six female acrobats known as ‘Les reines du tapis’ performing remarkable acts. - **LES SIX SOEURS DAINEF** (1902, France, 3 minutes): Another enchanting silent film featuring six female acrobats. - **VIRTUOS VIRTUELL** (Thomas Stellmach, Maja Oschmann, 2013, Germany, 8 minutes): Two ink lines move to classical music, inviting viewers to imagine the stories within the abstract visuals. - **MY HAPPY END** (Milen Vitanov, 2007, Germany, 5 minutes): A cheerful cut-out animation about a dog chasing its own tail, leading to a heartwarming friendship that changes the dog's life.
