Step into Ida's World - A Poetic Journey Through Dementia and Love

ABOUT THIS EVENT

In this animated, interactive VR experience, we step into the shoes of Ida, a 72-year-old pianist living with dementia. 'A Long Goodbye' tells the poetic story of the gradual farewell between two loved ones who have shared a life together. As we experience a day in Ida's life, her reality slowly fades away. The apartment she has lived in with her beloved husband, Daniel, initially feels empty and undefined. By interacting with objects and listening to recordings of her husband, her playful world gradually comes to life, as if being painted before our eyes. Pieces of memories and conversations help Ida rediscover herself while we also witness Daniel's hope to remain connected, realizing that their remaining time together may be short. This captivating experience explores the impact of dementia but, above all, celebrates love and the long farewell of two partners in life.
