An Enchanting Cinematic Experience for Young Explorers

ABOUT THIS EVENT

Children aged 2 to 6 will embark on their first cinema experience in our cozy film hall. On Sunday mornings, toddlers and preschoolers will enjoy Taartrovers Cinemini, a special program where they can watch films and play in a beautiful light landscape. During Taartrovers Cinemini, we screen charming, thrilling, abstract, narrative, and sometimes challenging short films, specially curated for young audiences. After the screening, attendees can play together in a light landscape, featuring various installations that help children discover how light can create stories. They will explore shape, projection, light, shadow, storytelling, movement, and color. How do shadows form? Where do images come from, how do shapes grow or shrink, and how do they disappear? For adults, shadows are ordinary; for children, they might seem like magic that turns adults into tall giants. **PROGRAM:** Do you sometimes feel small among all those big people? Do you find fish sweet or perhaps a bit scary? Or do you love saving a fish when it's running out of water and searching together for a way back to where it feels most at home, just like in the film? **WATERWAY** Mercedes Marro, 2016 Spain/France 8 minutes A starry night in a poor neighborhood in Latin America. Oscar is sleeping in his room when a sudden gust of wind awakens him. From his window, he sees a little goldfish gasping for air in a dirty puddle. **ICE SKATES** Ignas Meilūnas, 2024 Lithuania 13 minutes **CLOUD FISH** Noé Garcia, 2025 France/Belgium 6 minutes Taartrovers Cinemini is developed by Taartrovers and Eye Filmmuseum.
