ABOUT THIS EVENT

In the first Short Wave of 2026, we will focus on healthy eating and beautiful social initiatives. Special guest chef Mounir Toub, renowned from 24Kitchen, Kook mee met MAX, and other programs, gives insights into Arabic cuisine. He has collaborated with star chefs but is primarily trained by his mother. It's his passion to inspire young cooking talent. Over the past five years, he also became involved with the initiatives Bakkie040 and Happie040. Together with his team, he provides a culinary embrace to people in need: those with a tight budget or guiding former homeless individuals. Mounir is a busy person and will enthusiastically share how cooking and eating together fosters connection in the city. The evening will kick off musically with Nova Borgers and Sanne Hess from the singing school SingShop. A number of volunteers from Stadsakkers Eindhoven will also join. For over ten years, more than fifty people have been working at two locations to cultivate organic vegetables for everyone in real need, without profit motives. From sowing to harvesting: this group of volunteers ensures that many local charities receive fresh produce and they are always in need of extra hands. International flow artist Michelle Verhoeks, known as FlowMies, will perform twice during this Short Wave. She competed in Holland’s Got Talent 2024, reaching the top 3. Expect hula-hooping at its highest level! With her hoop dance and performance art, she performs both nationally and internationally. This will certainly be an immersive experience. Take a sneak peek at www.flowmies.nl, Instagram.com/flowmies, or www.youtube.com/@flowmies. The evening will musically open with Nova Borgers and Sanne Hess from the singing school SingShop. SingShop celebrates 15 years and is expanding. With over 300 students, it has become a staple in singing Eindhoven. They organize a variety of singing-related events: from sing-a-longs to pop-up choirs. Nova Borgers is the daughter of musician Bertus Borgers and accompanies student Sanne Hess on piano. Appie Dijk, a must-see participant in the Lampegatse Optocht, hopes to participate for the 33rd time next month. Together with his companions, he hands out Schrobbelèr to the audience during carnival and at various times throughout the year. He organizes this himself because he values bringing some joy. Appie will give a tribute to Eindhoven on January 7. Will we see you on January 7?
