An Emotional Journey Through Gaming
ABOUT THIS EVENT
In Saved Game, actress Julia Ghysels portrays a mother who loses her child and logs into his game. At that moment, she loses herself both in the game and in the play. This performance explores grief and virtual healing through play.
Are you an avid gamer? Or are you that parent who has no idea what’s happening in the virtual world of your child? In Saved Game, actress Julia Ghysels embodies a mother who loses her child and logs into his game, subsequently losing herself within both. She takes on all characters alone: a woman building a monument in her garden for her deceased son, the deceased son himself, the angry neighbor eager to remove the monument, the grieving husband consulting a psychic, and a pixelated bear trapped in a video game.
Julia plays. She performs... what she believes she must perform. But who really sets the rules of the game? Expect tears in Saved Game, a play about grief and virtual healing through play.
